The Rain Room Test is one of many tests designed to challenge our products in demanding, life-like conditions. Before any new GORE-TEX® garment style is put into production it must pass the Gore Rain Room Test. This sophisticated outerwear testing facility is designed to simulate a variety of rain conditions.

The Walking Simulator

The Walking Simulator tests the waterproofing of GORE-TEX® Footwear. Shoes and boots are placed on flexible artificial feet equipped with sensors. The mechanical feet take up to 300,000 steps in a water bath, which is equivalent to a good hike across a wet meadow or through a stream.

Our Guaranteed Keep You Dry® Promise

If you are not completely satisfied with the waterproofness, windproofness, or breathability of a GORE-TEX© product then we will repair, replace or refund. All GORE-TEX© garments and footwear carry the Guaranteed to Keep You Dry® promise. This includes moisture from the wet grass you're kneeling in to the sudden squall you get caught in.
