Go Local, Give Back

Each month, Northern Lights will announce $1,000 in grants to local non-profit organizations here and in our newsletter. The Northern Lights Community Fund is our monthly program of giving back to Bozeman and Montana. This is directly related to our belief that your dollars do more for our community when you keep them Local. When you shop Local, you keep each other healthy. When you shop online, you are sending your dollars out of state and they stay out of state. The Northern Lights Community Fund exists to help give back to a pool of conservation and human interest organizations that help make and keep Montana a great place for all of us to live and recreate. We want to help and do our part!

The goal of the Northern Lights Community Fund is to financially contribute to projects and organizations that make Bozeman, the Yellowstone region and the state of Montana a great place to live and recreate. Northern Lights selects grant recipients that share this and other common goals with our organization. We have already built relationships with many organizations that we have supported for decades. We're fortunate to have these types of organizations working in our area, helping preserve what's special about this region to the benefit of all who live here and visit.

We have a process of choosing where these funds are spent and how organizations are chosen. A big variable in the selection process is that the groups we help support are directly engaged in efforts that relate to the greater good. Whether these are environmentally associated groups or humane interest groups, what matters is they have widespread impact toward improving our environment or helping a very worthy and obviously humane cause. While we don't have a formal grant application, we are happy to look at your group and goals. Please understand that we get hundreds of requests each year and really only have the capability of helping fund a few dozen.
