Jay Allen

Jay, our noble leader, has rebeled against the yoke of corporate america by joining our little organization here. He brings with him a bold new vision for the future, which we're pretty sure includes tacos. Jay isn't wasting any time massing the troops to stampede the competition, much like he did on the grid-iron in Kansas. However, his prowess in business shouldn't hide the fact that he has a big heart and is a welcome addition to our community. Northern Lights and Bozeman look forward to years of progress with Jay.

A Word from the Prez

Dave Benes

Dave, the Barn's manager and resident burly woodsman, spends his free time as the sole and founding member of Bozeman's mountain goat paparazzi. He nearly made the Olympic cycling team in '08, but was too busy slaying trout on his fiberglass river yacht, "The Dream", to go to the team trials. Instead of hibernating in the long MT winter months, Dave chooses to save the fallen of Lone Peak as a member of Moonlight Basin's Ski Patrol. He also cooks a wicked good Thai coconut soup.

Clare Magneson

From coastal California, to majestic Maine and finally to mountainous Montana, Clare comes to The Barn as a skilled river runner and savvy outdoorswoman. Having guided grueling five-day whitewater expeditions on Oregon's Rogue and having hiked the unforgiving John Muir trail, Clare knows something about flora and fauna identification. Midnight biking, whittling, and urban climbing are just a few of her other top faves. Clare almost won the Barn's whittling competition, but was disqualified after threatening the judge (Dave) with her whittling knife. This is not held against her however, as Clare is our resident expert on customer service and pet care.

Jeremiah McCabe

Jeremiah is feeling pretty good right now. He just recently had his backside star in a Northern Lights ad. You can't really tell, but under the helmet, goggles, jacket, and pack we'll assume he's right and that it really is him. However, things might become unbearable in the future as he is also slated to become the "Voice of Northern Lights" this winter. I guess we can't complain, we're really just jealous of his looks. We loved Blue Steel and we can't wait for him to unvail MAGNUM!

Matt Parsons

Matt spends way too much time at work. If he dedicated as much time to skiing as he did to writing the store schedule he would be in the next TGR movie. As it stands he has succeeded at being mediocre at almost everything he tries…skiing, climbing, ice hockey and playing the banjo. He did complete a successful thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail in 2003, which he will drone on about ad nauseam if asked. So don’t ask! Or you will be cornered for the next two hours. His ambition in life: to hike every mile of trail in the world (good luck with that, buddy!) and to write the great American novel. His mom’s advice: “Better stick to retail.”

Perrin Pring

Perrin (aka Peregrine Falcon…need we say more) came to NLTC after spending years as an accomplished river guide on Wyoming's Snake River, running 40+ miles per day. Her experience includes leading adventures throughout Teton National Park, confronting criminals with her Aikido skills, winning international pie competitions (she uses the Barn employees as her sampling population), and instilling her vast knowledge and respect of James Bond movies, New England, and the preservation of the Yellowstone to Yukon ecosystem in all who will listen.

Jamie Weleber

It was lucky we found Jamie, the self-taught Internet sales "tech support" guy. Before he worked at the Barn, he lived a very different lifestyle. His home: a yurt in the Bitterroots. His car: a tricked-out mountain bike. His job: finding noxious weeds as a crew leader for the Forest Circus… Since discovering the World Wide Web (you know, the one with email), Jamie has excitedly become intimate with W.O.W., Match.com, and NortherLightsTrading.com.
